Service Keepers Update: COVID-19
With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreading globally, it is imperative to take precautionary measures in the form of prevention and disinfection. Service Keepers is always here to provide cleaning services. We are also here to provide information on how you can help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Service Keepers takes public health and safety seriously. Please be informed and take the following precautions:
Here’s WHAT TO KNOW:
- People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus
- Suspected COVID-19 infections are linked to travel in areas where cases have been reported, or close contact with someone who has traveled in these areas and has become ill
- Person-to-Person Contact
- The most common transmission of all Coronaviruses is Airborne (sneezing and coughing)
- The second most common transmission is through Close Contact with an infected person (shaking hands or within 6 feet of person)
- Coronavirus may possibly be transmitted by contacting a contaminated surface and then rubbing your eyes, ears, nose, or mouth.
And here’s WHAT WE CAN DO:
- Stay aware of the latest information on the COVID-19 outbreak
- Take care of your health and protect others by doing the following:
- Wash your hands regularly – using a handwash or hand sanitizer
- Maintain at least 6 feet distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. People with no respiratory symptoms, such as cough, do not need to wear a medical mask
- Stay home if you feel unwell
- Wash hands and clean environmental surfaces
The importance of HANDWASHING:
As of late, the only known method for keeping COVID-19 away is to wash your hands thoroughly and often. Below are the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Guidelines for handwashing:
Handwashing Procedures –
- Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap
- Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
- Scrub your hands for at least 30 seconds
- Rinse your hands well under clean, running water
- Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them Hand Sanitizing Procedures
- Apply the product to the palm of one hand (read the label to learn the correct amount)
- Rub your hands together
- Rub the sanitizer over all the surfaces of your hands and fingers until your hands are dry.
And finally, the importance of properly DISINFECTING:
It is crucial that we all properly disinfect spaces and objects various times throughout the day. This is especially true for spaces commonly shared by people. Either you or a professional servicing company like us can perform disinfecting processes. However, there are standard disinfecting guidelines that need to be followed:
Environmental Cleaning –
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures for Cleaning Environments and Bloodborne Pathogen
- Select the Right Disinfectant Cleaner and Follow Specific Directions for Use on label
- Follow Proper Precautionary Measures (PPE)
- Disinfectant/detergent formulations registered by EPA are used for environmental surface cleaning, but the actual physical removal of microorganisms and soil by wiping or scrubbing is probably as important, if not more so, than any antimicrobial effect of the cleaning agent used (taken from the CDC’s HICPAC).
Service Keepers is here to promote and ensure the safe health of the public. We wish everyone an abundance of safety and health!
