Our New Years Resolutions
Most of us are not that good when it comes to sticking to our New Year’s resolutions. According to one study, only about 40 percent of us keep our New Years resolutions after about six months. Further, a survey reported in Statistica found that only about four percent of us that made New Year’s resolutions at the end of 2018, kept them by the end of 2019.
Well, when it comes to professional cleaning and COVID, things are far too serious as we start 2021 not to follow through on our New Years resolutions. They are as essential to us as they are to you, our clients. This is because we must work together to keep your facilities clean, safe, and above all, healthy.
With that said, we would like to share five of Service Keeper’s New Years resolutions for 2021:
Remain Open to New Cleaning Technologies That Prevent the Spread of Disease.
Many cleaning contractors have historically been hesitant to make changes in their cleaning equipment and strategies. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” an expression credited to Bert Lance, who worked during the Carter administration in 1977, appears to be their guiding principle.
The problem is that with the pandemic, everything has changed. Many of the cleaning strategies used in the past are not proving as useful today. Because of changing best practices, equipment, and methods, in 2021, we resolve to be open to new cleaning strategies – if they are proven to help stop the spread of this infection – to further protect our clients’ health.
Remain Green and Sustainable
Since the pandemic arrived, it may appear that green cleaning and sustainability were kicked out the door. That should not happen, nor will it at Service Keepers. Fighting the spread of this disease does not mean we must forgo our commitment to environmental responsibility. In 2021, we resolve to select products and incorporate cleaning strategies that protect health while at the same time have a minimal impact on users and the environment.
Client Communication
In 2020, rapidly changing events created considerable uncertainty. Service Keepers prides itself on always responding to evolving conditions quickly. This includes keeping our clients up to date on situations that might impact their facilities.
In 2021, we will continue to stress and exemplify the importance of client communications, providing our clients with credible information that ensures their facilities’ health and the health and safety of all those who use them.
Evaluate Cleaning Strategies with Costs in Mind
As the pandemic progressed in 2020, like many cleaning contractors, we put extra time and effort into using more cleaning solutions and products to stem the spread of this disease. In many cases, this proved costly.
Towards the end of 2020, we began re-evaluating these programs and products to determine which were proving useful and which were not, and which could be eliminated to help reduce costs. In 2021, we resolve to continue to do this. Our goal has always been to provide effective and efficient cleaning while keeping our costs fair and reasonable.
Educate, Educate, Educate
Never has custodial education been more crucial. We have always prided ourselves on having a quality education program in place for our staff. But now, again, due to the pandemic, this must be enhanced. We resolve in 2021 to make custodial education an ongoing top priority for everyone working at Service Keepers.
